Selections of my work in sculpture, drawing, prints, and design.
My current project is the visual retelling of two related stories told to me by my grandmother when she was in her nineties during my visits to her home. Both stories took place near Selkirk, Manitoba, over the winter of 1918 as the Spanish Flu epidemic reached poor and rural Manitoba farmers. These images are a sampling of the first few pages.
The woodcuts are being printed on a Vandercook SP-15 at Hazeltree Press & Paper, under the guidance of Christine Trainor. Christine also has a wonderful old Pearl clamshell press, and we may use that as well.
I anticipate the entire project to take thirty or more woodcuts, and expect to complete the woodcuts over the next year. Images belonging to this project will often by posted to my Tumblog which you can find in the "thoughts" section.
